So, I want to move to Chengdu, but I got all kinds of junk I need to cart along with me. For instance I have this beautiful coffee table that I will not part with. You guys know of any safe ways to transport freight west?
BTW, what happened to off-topic? |

nothing really...i've got some posts on, although it only appeared after i signed on the job related forum
to keep this as a job related one, i'd suggest we discuss the city as "how is it to work there" and then what the lovely schools/centers that provide some fine employment opportunities there are
i've heard many nice things about the city...one of my students that've moved from there (14 years old middle school) speaks English pretty well and tells me that it's really good to study English at Chengdu middle schools..well, she compared it to her current Nanning (Guanxi) shite school
I've heard that Chengdu is quite clean as oppose to many other Chinese cities..and then the freaking bikes do not come on sidewalks as for example in Nanning where you often have to yield as a pedestrian
peace to all Chinese cities that offer some fine jobs as well as living conditions
and
cheers and beers to Chengdu as well as to the OP's move there |

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but I just remembered a comment made by a female student (not one of my students) from Hubei when I was in Changchun: southern Chinese students speak better English than northern Chinese students. Come to think of it, I do quite agree. While southern Chinese have problems with pronouncing putonghua, they have better English pronunciation than northern Chinese students do.
BTW, that should be Guangxi, not Guanxi. |
