I am going to Vietnam for a short trip soon and wondered what plug sockets are used there so I can buy the right adapter and recharge my camera battery while I am over there. I got 3 different sockets when I searched on google so don't really trust what I came across.

No, Vietnam uses 220 Volt sockets.

Thanks for the replies. Can anyone tell me if the voltage is the same as UK / Europe. "220 Volt sockets" - I presume without sounding dumb thats the voltage they use. I'll check what it is here. I remember when I was in South Korea I plugged a Nintendo 64 in the wall and smoke started coming out of the back of it! You had to use transformers for European electrical goods. Can you plug in European goods the wall without any such problem in Vietnam?
