This is interesting -- I'm usually giving the answers when it comes to motor vehicle transport in Japan, rather than asking the questions... But this question is uncharted territory for me so if anyone knows the answer, I'd sure appreciate knowing.
I own several scooters and a motorbike... All are registered under my name and insured by me. Is it lawful for my friends to borrow and use one of my vehicles? (Granting the fact that they have a legal license to drive it)...
Thanks!

It is lawful but you are responsible, I believe, Jim.
I began commuting to school by scooter recently. Have you ever had anyone in oncoming traffic pull in front of you? Wow, that sure gave me cause to stop and think for a moment the other night.
Be safe,

I wouldn't assume that your insurance covers anyone who uses your scooter. You should call your insurance agent. You'll get the quick and straight scoop from him/her. |
