Just slid the metal cover doors closed. My glass balcony doors are safe (?). I hear a bit of wind out there.

Let's see what happens tomorrow. Will there be no school tomorrow? No matter, I'll be there on time armed with complete lesson plans and created teaching materials.

Last Friday, an earthquake. This Friday, a typhoon. Danny Sheridan's Vegas odds that Godzilla shows up next Friday have just improved to 40 to 1.

In Muira/ Yokosuka--the trees are flying, the wind is crazy, and my roads are all flooded out.

The military base was closed today and the store ran out of American "necessities" like milk and bread last night! I didn't think much of it until my boss let us off early and during the ride home, I noticed Ringer Hut was closed! (Now you know it's serious when the FamiRes aren't open!)

Anyways, I'm across from the beach and the mansion apt. bldg. in front of me is barely braking the storm from blowing my roof off! I'm grateful for electricity and internet access!!! Still hoping, all passes by safely and school will be canceled tomorrow. Peace out! Smile

In Nagano we don`t get any wind because the mountains shelter us, but its rained solidly for the last two days. I was going to go on a river boating trip tomorrow down the Shinano river, but it looks like that`s off again. Me and a mate have been planning it for two years. Whenever we get a convenient date something comes up. Rain curse has struck again!

It was pretty windy here in Saitama last night. There was no food in my place (didn't I prepare well LOL) so I had to totter out to the 24-hour Seiyu to get some stuff. Going wasn't too bad, but on the way back my brolly gave up on fighting the continual gusts, whipped back inside out then broke halfway down its shaft. I watched it sail away down the street and towards a car coming up behind me...considered giving chase, but the image of me being handcuffed and led away from the body of a dead salaryman (sprawled on his back with a brolly shaft protuding from a shattered lens of his glasses) soon had me hurrying back home to watch 'Sunshine' (Danny Boyle flick) instead.

Rained a bit here in Tokyo. Surprisingly, most companies released their employees early by 3 or so, I was working until after 9! Shocked

And the students all came Shocked

I think about half the kids didn't show up to school today.
For my first class, only 5 showed up.

Public schools were more likely to be closed, especially in Ibaraki, Sendai, Fukushima, etc.

Heavy rain and wind in Sendai all morning and most of the afternoon.

The typhoon made my 1 1/2 hour trip to my Friday school into 5 hours and almost turn my neighborhood into a lagoon. I finally made it to my school and passing the Tone river along the way made the trip worth while. Only saw the very tops of them.
