I have been teaching for a public school in the USA for the last 6 years. This is an ESL class with all subjects. Will any schools in the middle east hire a male for these grades? If so, what schools should I look at in the UAE?

Certainly... to teach boys. The key factor is State/National Certification at this level, not an MA. (that is for university jobs)
Did you try applying to Teachaway? There was another ad not long ago on the international jobs page... but it may have been lower grades... and not just ESL.

a) hope that you're not posting using your real name - employers do check these forums
b) hope "higher" is a typo - otherwise if (a) is a yes I wouldn't expect too many positive replies of any kind at any level |

Absolutely.
Positive and strong yet compassionate male role models for elementary kids are in high demand. You will jump to the head of most hiring lists and have a pick of offers.
Having said that, you will be looked upon as gay unless you bring your wife. Even strongly appearing gay teachers I know are highly sought after (the only male elementary teacher will have parents lining up to have their son in his class) and have a slew of tutoring opportunities. |
