Golly Gosh, that EAP is what I've been DO ing for the past 8 years....I love it, getting paid toooooooo learn!! I've learned grammar, vocabulary, linguistics, various English language tests (9),business (blahh),medicine, history, and so much more. Party on! |

It can also mean "Early Admission Program." As with all abbreviations, you have to check the context very carefully. You might want to do a search on http://www.dictionary.com , and then see which nomenclature makes the most sense in your particular situation. |

Probably 90% of the ESL/EFL world would have gone for English for Academic Purposes. |

I concur with ESL Studies. EAP is the widely accepted acronym for English for Academic Purporses and is essentially advanced ESL/EFL that prepares students who are entering, or hoping to enter, university in an English-speaking country. The English Abroad acronym is not common. |

It would seem that perhaps William Wallace is confusing his EAP and his ESP!
