I'm a little bemused at news of a certain flagship eikaiwa is listing badly (I'm being evasive because a certain golfer *beep* poster gets locked down everytime he mentions the water gushing into the hold, and it might not be because he is a annoying troll, sorry). I wonder what kind of waves this scuttling might take?

To be sure there with be a lot of shipless crew looking for new positions (some rats...oops staff are already looking for something else to keep them afloat), but what about the studious passengers? Should we expect a wave of people looking for safe passage? Or will they be turned off their pursuit by their unexpected dunking? Should we expect a James Cameron blockbuster movie?

Maybe they'll all move to Nova Scotia, mistakenly thinking it's some kind of a private island instead of a province in Canada which isn't actually an island at all.

The ship had been listing and taking on water two and a half years ago, but the captain kept the crew on double rum rations so they wouldn't notice.

Maybe a lot of people will get lucky and some of the crew will decide to throw the Captain overboard Razz

the captain let the ship go to ruin. it no longer matters whether he is onboard or not.

those in proximity to the ship should look out for pirate zombies.

Really, that goes without saying. The Pirate Zombie is probably the most deadly zombie out there, with its' only equal maybe being the Ninja Zombie, the natural enemy of the Pirate Zombie. Ah pirates and ninjas, even in death they can't get along Wink

maybe some of you gawkers in your sailboats or soapboxes or wherever the hell you sit will realize that this ship is not a frigate full of prisoners, the manifest actually includes some bright young people who don't really want to walk the plank, and that 6000 gaijin in Davy Jone's locker won't exactly make it clear sailing for you. pshah

honestly, some of us watching the ship are just wondering why some on the board are like "don't mention the ship" and others are saying "what, that little leak? no worries, it's such a big ship that there couldn't possibly be a problem. it's always floated before!". some of us feel that those who are considering boarding the ship should be informed, in the strongest possible terms, that they're actually boarding a sieve.

Wow I can't believe this analogy has gone on for so long, and might I say cudos on doing such a good job of it.
Everyone knows the ship is going down. I feel bad for the people involved and hope that everything works out in the best way possible.

Goodluck to all those on-board, staff, passengers, captain and all.

yamanote senbei: The loans will buy you time, but days only. From this moment on, no matter what we do, She will founder.
Nozomu Sahashi: But this ship can't sink!
yamanote senbei: She is made of iron, sir. I assure you, she can. And she *will*. It is a mathematical certainty

n00b teacher: Will the lifeboats be seated according to class? I hope they aren't too crowded.
yamote senbei: Oh, shut up! Don't you understand? The economy is crap and there aren't enough jobs. Not enough by half. Half the people on this ship are going to die.
Smug highschool teacher: Not the better half.

Well maybe not the Captain. Something tells me he got off at the nearest tropical island long ago.
