Anybody have any feedback on WORLD English Schools?
Especially interested in their Qingdao operation.

They could do with a native speaker to correct some of that Chinglish on their website for a start. |

I had a look at that site - and came up with this report on a school party in Qingdao
Quote: |
We hold a crazy party in Qingdao World training school at the 23rd of December.Students and the teachers are singing together. Have you seen our foreign teachers? Were playing a game. We are so happy!Instant drinking of cocktail! Do you know what is in it? Its delicious!Putting a pencil between the mouth and the nose, she can speak English clearly! Excellent! Our foreign teachers want to have a try too!Im the special champion! |
(the beep drink is c0cktail)
sometimes the responsibilties of being an FT super-star are too much to bear - someone hand me a pistol!!!!!! |

"Putting the pencil between the mouth and the nose, she can speak English clearly!"
Wow!!! All this time, the Chinese were right! There really IS a way to learn to speak English easily!
Followed by "Our foreign teachers want to have a try too!" Why? Presumably because they can't speak English clearly.
By the way, they seem to like the word "warmly" on that website, don't they?
As 11:59 indicated, if they've got foreign (including native speaker) teachers and they still have all that Chinglish on the site, they're not looking like School of the Year. |

Thank you for the comments about the website.
Anyone have any info on the operations of this chain and especially their Qingdao outlet?
"English School Check" seems to be inaccessible at this time.
Thanks |

This website is part of this chain's operation - and when experienced China hands start to read some of the stuff this operation deems as the kind of information that will attract an FT - well their inbuilt anti white-monkey alarm beepers start to flash and honk!!!!!!!
Look at this one -

May21st, the Beizhai local cherry festival. Our school held an activity that day. Almost thirty people went there, including foreign teacher Luke who is from Australia. Everyone agreed that it was a really nice day.
It was a forty minutes bus trip. Before I went there, I had heard that the cherries of Beizhai were the biggest, reddest and sweetest in Qingdao. It was true. Full trees of cherries were warmly welcoming us. The beautiful color and delicious taste are so unforgettable. We picked up the cherries excitedly. In order to pick up the cherries in upper branches, some students climbed up the trees. Luke took his traditional Australian musical instrument didgeridoo with him. We really enjoyed the strange but attractive sound of this long pipe branchlike instrument. On that day we took hundreds of pictures and our smiles were recorded forever. |
Looks like you'll go down well in this joint with a traditional instrument - you got any bagpipes Mr. Washburn???? But remember not to try and play 'em while drinking c0cktails |

World likes men aged between 40-75 years old as youngsters are harder to control. Good employer though. Recommend them to you. |
