Sorry for yet another NOVA thread. I thought this would be better off in its own thread.

I don't know how many NOVA teachers peruse this forum but I'm just curious as to how many of those that we do have are planning on going into work this weekend.

So far NOVA has missed 4 promised pay dates. After the last one on Tuesday (the clouds have cleared, blah blah blah) there has been no notice or updates whatsoever. The Japanese staff and AAM's got their paystubs today but no actual deposits.

Many people from my area have gotten together today and the general consensus is that if there is no pay by tomorrow (Friday) then nobody would be going into work on the weekend. It'll take a lot of organization but we're going to try to shut the whole block down. I wonder if that would get into the news or whether the Japanese press would continue to keep their heads up their collective a$ses. Anyways I would encourage anybody working for Nova to call in sick this weekend if there have been no pay updates. It's bad enough to work for a company with money problems-it's far worse when they're not upfront about it. It leaves me with the very bad feeling that my company is trying to screw me. There's absolutely no excuse why they couldn't keep their employees updated on what's happening and perhaps (hopefully) they'll pay for it this weekend.

Nova is finished. It's losing teachers and students by the bucketload and recruitment has been completely frozen. Nobody will be getting paid anymore, the only reason they're even pretending to continue is to claw money out of students who are paying no attention to the news. Since the teachers will likely never see this money, there really isn't any reason to go to work anymore, unless you want to try and gather private students. A strike would be a good way to put this farce to an end and begin the process of trying to collect the wages due to you once Nova goes bust.

Why are you still going to work? The writing is on the wall...

hhhmmm

interesting article, I can't see how Nova can last much longer

not paying the staff is not going to help their cause (to stay afloat)

Not unless slavery is reintroduced. Most people don't like working for free and I'm sure people have gone on strike for less. It might hasten the end but let's face it, NOVA is dead. It's one giant pyramid scheme collapsing before our eyes. Anyone who thinks it might stop crumbling halfway through its descent is delusional.
