I'm probably coming back to Indo in December (huzzah!) to work (boo!), and was wondering what prices are like these days? I know the exchange rate is just over 18,000 Rp to the , which is around the same (I think) as early 2005. But what about the essentials in life: beer, ciggies, etc.?
As ever, your patience is much appreciated.

Am I the only one who feels a greatly increased urge to drink during Ramadan?
Thought not. |

Personally ,I'm quite happy - the odd hangover withstanding naturally.
Anyway, a bunch of sad-assed efl teachers drinking beer - nothing new there.
I'll PM a few of you when I'm getting closer.

Wow! Is this a record for "Least Number Of Posts Taken To Go Off Topic?" I didn't realise I was running a dating service! Anyway, I hope you'll be very happy together, and look forward to receiving the wedding invitation...

Post-puasa? No no no. I mean that Saturday 3 p.m. urge to hang out of a bajaj, swigging a beer, smurking a tab and ramming a bacon sarnie down your throat whilst loudly abusing the pathetic spectacle of seasonal morality. In Arabic, if possible.
So, again, is it just me?
Eh?
Oh. |

It wasn't much of a thread to start with

I cannot be certain about that; Therefore, I do not know.

Agreed. The time of year when Muslims actually eat MORE than they do at any other time of the year: coinciding with a new bylaw prohibiting people from giving money to the poor. |
