I was wondering the same. I asked one of my recruiter-bosses here in Mexico City about the same or whether there was any listings for recalcitrant teachers and she told me no. Sometimes I wish there were so that they would not grab the positions that I want, but then again they are probably only able to be hired at those positions at places that are not good to begin with. |

Maybe not in Mexico, but Korean Hogwan owners have a blacklist in Korean. In Thailand, schools maintain informal blacklists. I don't know about Mexico, but anything is possible.
TEFLWatch serves to vet schools. Schools already have the ability to vet teachers by doing simple things like contacting previous employers, checking references and verifying qualifications. TEFLWatch allows teachers to do the same thing.
I know it can be tough working with a teacher you think should be in a blacklist, but think about this. If the school actually took the time to check references, contact previous employers and actually verify qualifications, they wouldn't be hiring bad teachers. You get what you seek. |

The xxxxwatch.org site does a good job that nobody else does, a necessary job to provide warnings against the worst employers, and a list of good employers like the one where Melee works.
As stated above, employers in Mexico should know how to screen out bad employees before they hire them. When you're working with a totally unqualified teacher who's just doing a bad job, that's the problem of your employer, unless that bad teacher is interfering with you and your life. |
