I'm a senior in college right now and I want to set up a job in China as soon as possible. Does anyone know how to find a job this early? |

Chinese public school administrations don't plan too far ahead, if any of them plan ahead at all. So, start applying for teaching positions after May 7 next year. You will have more than two months to pick and choose the best offer and to get everything finalized.
Private language training centres hire year-round. |

You can start sending some schools some letters of interest now, however as TW said the ability to plan ahead for most Chinese schools is pretty poor. So don't be disappointed if you don't get a reply. Best time to apply for a job for next year would be April - June. |

You also need to do some planning and decision making op.
What part of china do you want to live? Big city, rural, etc...
What type of school and ages do you want to work with? Can you handle k to 5 grades? Do you like little kids? Do you want teens? College students? Adults?
All of the above pose different challanges and you do need to prepare yourself to teach some of these age groupings.
Start agressively posting 3 months before if you want schools that have set term schedules. Don't forget summer camps if you want to arrive in june.
I recommend you set up some "Dummy" email accounts to save yourself from the endless Spam you will get once you put your true email address on a resume or on a www site.
Be careful of scammers and truthfully, don't trust anyone - especially the chinese... Remember many have come to china with a "Firm" offer or contract in their hand only to find out that the job was filled or perhaps they were too ugly or not white enough... |
