If that's what they pay their DOS, how much are they paying their teachers?

Yep it is Meridian. Cannot work out the nationality of the owner from his odd name.

I cannot believe people still accept any kind of tefl job there - the industry is surely on the way out, and good ridance. You can make more working in Pirate Pete's on the pompy seafront, just tell 'em I sent ya.

Let's do the maths...
Working hours 9-5: Let's allow 30 minutes for lunch and call it 7.5 hours per day.
Now multiply by 5 to get 37.5 hours per week.
Now multiply by 50 to get an annual workload of 1875 hours.
Dividing 1875 into 14560 gives an hourly rate of 7.77 for a management position which probably requires a degree plus DELTA.

Alternatively, 14560/52 = 280 per week. By comparison, postal workers get a basic of 325, and they've just been on strike!

Don't remember it, but if it's the same he's eccentrically English. I did a two week stint there just after doing my CELTA about 4 years ago. He offered 11 an hour and I said I was looking for more, so got 12....

Nope Thrifty, not Meridian, a new college called Spinnaker. As it happens Meridian _are_ advertising for teachers: 14 an hour.

The new school has a flash web site, but I wouldn't mind betting the director has no background in education.
