Hey all,

I was reading a couple articles online about teaching English in Costa Rica and one provided a list of schools. I picked around nine that I was interested in and I was wondering if anyone had any first hand knowledge of my top picks. I have the descriptions from the list but I would like to have a second opinion.
I plan to start the job search immediately upon arriving in the country. I hope I will be able to find a job on February 1st. I have been told that there will be no problem but doubt still linger. The schools that I am interested in are

Universidad Latina Strict requirements. Will a Masters degree in Education with two and a half years teaching experience be considered sufficient?

ESP, English for special services in Rohrmoser. I understand that this school has been described as very professional with strict requirements.

English Learning Centers, Univerisdad interamericana Carrartera a Heredia (stupid question but I assume this school is located in Heredia)

Idioma Internacional La Uruca, San Jose.

Thanks for your opinions. Does anyone have any other recommendations?

I understand that Brian Logan compiled the majority of the information on this list. The information provided is appreciated.

Pura Vida

It sounds like the list that you came across was not mine, so I'll post the link for mine:

You won't be able to get hired by either ULatina or Interamericana on Feb. 1st because their terms start in January. However, there are still plenty of options available to you.

I misread the article. This was your list. Sorry. My thanks is to you then. So thank you for the second time.

Since those two schools are out, do you have any recommendations?

I do not work for private language institutes or company class providers any more, so I do not have the latest info on those. However, you could probably quite easily get work at any one of those. Company classes pay more, but some people do not like the schedule/travelling. The best thing to do would be to come here first, phone the schools to arrange interviews, and then go with your best offer. The fact that you have a Master's and a few years of experience is definitely an asset.
