Has anyone ever worked for this school (Jiangmen English Language Centre)? This will be my first overseas job and I don't want to end up in a bad situation. So far, everything in the planning seems to be going good, but just thought I should check them out.
Also, is Jiangmen a nice town? I've been having trouble finding information about it. I got a little off the internet, but I'm still not completely confident. Is it fairly safe? I've lived in a town of about 15,000 people for pretty much my whole life. I don't want to get there and be too scared to go out.
If anyone knows of where I can more info about this area please let me know. My Lonely Planet guide doesn't have anything at all.
Will I still be able to find some western resturants there?
Where's the best place to get a map for the area?
Thanx if anyone can help me out!

"...going good..." Surely you mean "well"?

If you have been having trouble finding out about this town, just how nice do you think it could possibly be? Just how many western restaurants do you think there could be?

China, for all its faults, is, nevertheless, one of - if not THE - safest countries in the world.

I do not know about this training centre, which is not surprising - any CHinese town has such enterprises.
But I happen to have passed through Jiangmen, and in my opinion there is nothing special about this place. It has over one million inhabitants and is half-way between Foshan and Zhuhai, on a road parallel to that from Guangzhou to Zhuhai.
To me, it seemd a grimy and overpopulated place just like dozens of this kind. Then again, you might enjoy the benefit of being the first expat in town.
It takes about two hours by bus to Guangzhou, or about the same time to reach Zhuhai (next to macau) on the westside of the Pearl River.
