I want to take a yoga class and study Arabic after work... any ideas where I might find these? Or if you've taken a course and can recommend it, that would also be great.
Generally, are there online resources for info like this? Other places I've lived have had good expat websites/forums/places where people advertised but not in Oman - please let me know so i can look for myself next tim! |

(while waiting for replies from people who actually live in Muscat and have some knowledge of the topics...)
Check out the TimeOut magazine. Just from browsing through it you will see gyms, massage centers, etc., which may offer classes. I believe the Hyatt has yoga classes, but they will probably be pretty pricy... I have seen others listed, but since I don't live in Muscat I haven't paid too much attention to the details.

Arabic classes - Al Raqadi Institute, Wattayah or Polyglot, Hamriya.
Yoga - most of the hotels do this now as it is very trendy. Try Intercon, or Radisson or ask around as there are also many private teachers depending on what type of yoga you are looking for. |

You'd need to check out the qualifications of your Yoga teacher, before signing up. Some of them are self-taught (with the help of do-it-yourself books & videos).
An incorrect posture or technique could have long-term ill-effects.
Good luck! |
