I can't find a lick of information about this school. They've been advertising for teachers lately - it's EAP - and their pay scales up to 17,000 per month, but I don't know anything about them. I believe they're new. Any word, warnings, praise? I've got an interview and I'd like to be prepared.

While I'm at it, I've heard living in Riyadh is much different (i.e. worse) than other parts of the country. Is this so? I had expected otherwise. Details?

Thanks.

Sorry, I've never heard of this institute either. But to address your more general point:

Depends on what you mean by 'other parts of the country'. It seems to be generally agreed that Riyadh is more austere and less cosmopolitan and 'liberal' (relatively speaking) than Jeddah. It also lacks the easy 'escape route' over the causeway which is a plus for those living in the Eastern province.

On the other hand, Riyadh is the capital and has a lot of resources and facilities - such as embassies - which you certainly wont' find in smaller towns. And I've never heard anyone claim that the quality of life in Jeddah or Khobar is that much better than in Riyadh. All things being equal, most people would probably choose Jeddah or Dhahran over Riyadh, but would choose Riyadh over Hafr al Batin, Jubail or Yanbu.

But then, all things are never equal. I would say that, so long as you avoid the smaller towns (usually only for military gigs) your employer has more influence over your potential happiness in KSA than the city you work in.
