Hi,
Is there anyone on this forum that has attended one of their courses? or heard anything about them? I would be interested in any feedback.
I am interested in doing a certificate course with them early next year as a refresher, perhaps in Khon Kaen.
I have done a quick search on this forum and saw one small thread that sounded positive.
thanks in advance,
L. |

I took the Text and Talk course last year. I enjoyed it and learned a lot. I would recommend it. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer. |

I'm a student currently enrolled in the Pattaya course at Text and Talk. We have an amazing instructor who does his best to make himself available to us for any questions we have concerning the course and preparing an outstanding resume for finding a job afterward.
The course provides face to face training with 6 hours of teaching Thai students. It's a great way to meet other English teachers and network. It also provides you with a ton of confidence and will help you tremendously in the classroom! Everything you can dream of is covered throughout the course.
It comes HIGHLY recommended. If you are planning to stay in an apartment, start looking early and secure it ahead of time. It's best to be close to the school. An advantage is finding one with a kitchen... saves money. Top sheets are hard to find in Pattaya (I don't know about the rest of Thailand), so if you like a cover, bring a top sheet. Also, bring a towel.
Any questions about visas let me know I'll do my best to help. Thailand is great... I think you're really going to love the experience!
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. |

I did teacher training for Text and Talk for about two years - but over two different tenures.
The content of the course itself is excellent, the other teacher trainers I met at that time (2001 and again in 2006) were experienced and skilled.
Some trainees (student teachers) comment that the course books could/should be updated/rewritten, but it is more an issue of the the appearance and selected items in the manuals I believe. But - again - the overall content of the course is very good.
There is a component of the course [module 3] that will perhaps better prepare you for teaching Thais - than any other course, but that component also will carry over and help you analyze and work with students in other countries as well.
Overall - probably one of the better courses around. |
