There is a recent and very lengthy thread on the Korea forum regarding a Canadian English teacher wanted by Interpol for serious charges. His name was released yesterday. It appears that his posts here on Dave's may have assisted police determine who he was and where he has worked. Cudos to the teachers and expats who came forward and worked with the police after seeing his picture.

Hope they catch the b*stard and jail him in a country that doesnt worry too too much about civil rights. Sorry, but I have absolutely no empathy for those who prey on children.

That's great news. I have a feeling this story is far from over.

There was some impressive police work involved in locating this guy.

I agree with you completely. There are situations where the civil rights of the victims far outweigh those of the accused perpetrator, and this is one of them!

...thanks for the tip, Samantha. we're in the process of looking at the East to teach ESL, and now things are really going to get stricter.

they're even talking on the Korea forums, that you might need FBI clearance, and have to leave Korea EVERY year to get a new check. and no more visa runs.

it's too bad...i remember they caught one in Ecuador in Riobamba back in '02 at a colegio. but, his incidents had happened in the US, and he was just hiding in Ecuador.
