Anything which is politically or ideologically against KSA will be censored and black-blocked!
Internet censorship in KSA is through Internet Services Units of KACST, and get its orders from Uncle Bandars security services.
Some of the institutions have spy-email software in which they spy on their employees.
I know one of the colleges was using the famous 007 Spy Software (not me ) for monitoring and secretly recording the activities of their employees.

I think there was a thread on this before - do a search.
If you are talking about general nationwide internet censorship (as opposed to that which may be done in individual workplaces) actually it's not that bad - unless you like to while away the time on porn sites or reading the Arabic language websites of various dissident groups. For most general purposes, you'd hardly notice the censorship - occasionally a genuinely innocent site gets 'accidentally' blocked, which can be a pain, but other than that, it's really not that big of an issue. |

If you use a land line then censorship is pretty tough unless you use a proxy server. This works really well and gets you onto (practically?) any website in the world.
If you use the satellite, then censorship doesn't seem to exist. |

Actually, in order to access dial up or DSL internet in KSA, you have to use a proxy server. |

I was obviously referring to using an anonymous proxy to thwart the censorship proxy at KACST. You go through the KACST proxy but link to anonymous proxies that are not banned, and then use them to get the pages you want. |

I have never attempted to access anything most people would consider to be suitable for banning. However even real estate sites or pet sites sometimes come up forbidden so I presume there are some good jobs in the censorship industry. |
