I've been searching the web for Poland-teacher sites ...

They are really thin on the ground! Poland has a massive TEFL market but seems to be one of the few countries whose foriegn teaching community is not represnted with it's own site! Does anyone know of any that are not in Polish?

So far I have found:

www.eflpoland.com

looks good but has just started out.

Google: 'The Polish forums'

Caught my eye but seems to be mostly for high-end expats.

www.teachpoland.com

Thought this would be promising but it doesn't seem to work as of yet.

Any links or ideas?

Gosh, it looks like these two sites are devoid of content.

I mean, almost totally empty.

Is it possible that someone is promoting their own website(s)?

...and trying to compete with Dave's?

The proofreading service offered by eflpoland.com might be one that youd want to avoid.

How is our service different?

Your proof-reader will be a teacher of English as a Foreign Language (EFL), and will have a deep understanding of the problems and errors non-native speakers and specifically Polish speakers have when writing. This helps us to say what YOU want to say!

Do you have errors? Personally I make them but thats just me.

Documents

Essays, academic texts, proposals, letters, resumee's, articles, books, you name we can do it.

The what belonging to resumee? And while were on the subject, what is a resumee anyway?
On the plus side, any time I want my name proof-read, I know where to go

I think it was the great Erik Cantona who once said mighty oaks can grow into acorns, but what did an old baseball player ever know about botany anyway?

Pooland is probably the most popular destination in Europe, and with such totty (babes), Im not at all surprised. Its so crying out for a forum to coordinate such excitement. Who cares if the poof reading isnt all that it should be? Lets face it, the average Polish person wouldnt notice anyway.

On the other hand, lets just sit in our cybercafes and mock anyone who comes along with a new site. Lets face it, weve got Poland teachers websites coming out of our ears, havent we, Harry from NWE? Feel free to name better sites, Harry, or even better start your own. After all, Daves is the only site on the web, so lets all stay here, shall we?

Well said, Hod. ESL blended snobbery in Poland gets a wee bit thick sometimes.

If they are your sites, mate, good luck with them.

Youll note that I said nothing at all about the teachers forum. I commented on the quality of the proofreading displayed on the commercial part of the website. Who cares if that quality isnt all that it should be? Well perhaps the quality of the work a person does when trying to sell their services is a signal of the quality of work which they will provide to their paying customers. The average Polish person might not notice the mistakes made? So what? The average person cant tell the difference between diamonds and cubic zirconia. Does that make it acceptable to sell them cubic zirconia and tell them that they are getting diamonds?

You clearly cant proofread and appear to think that the prime aim for a TEFL website about Poland should be to co-ordinate the excitement that comes from Polish babes. I suggest you take a long hard look at your career choice.

Tumteetum: is it snobbery to expect people to do the job that they charge money for?

I can poofread.

Harry, your points are very well made indeed. I especially liked the diamonds and zirconia bit, which is not only a good analogy but very relevant to the discussion too. If I were to be overly critical, though, Id add that I dont even live in Poland and its not my site.

I can't believe that no-one knows of any good websites!!! Poland has loads of teachers?

So there is just EFL Poland then?

Who wants to help me start a website?

My idea is to create a site with articles, like on the home page of www.eflpoland.com but on way more controversial issues, and with a daily or weekly comment column from some kind of radical Warsaw character. www.ajarn.com has the same kind of things, it is a teacher's site for Thailand but mine would be a bit more punk if you like....

Problem is, I have no tech. skills....if I did, I'd be rich with ideas like mine...
