Hello Everyone!
Sorry if this information has already been posted elsewhere on a thread....but I am considering living and working in either Vietnam, South Korea or Indonesia.
I'm not really going there to save money or advance my career,...but to (hopefully ) enjoy a pleasant job and lifestyle.
My ideal job has lots of conversation classes with adults, minimal or no preparation,..and maximum vacation time (to explore exotic places!!)
Has anyone got experience living and working in these places that you could share?
Thanks in advance

Vietnam would definitely be a better choice than South Korea if you want to explore exotic places. There is a lot to see in Vietnam and you can take a bus to some of the neighboring countries. The only country that borders South Korea is North Korea which I wouldn't think of as an exotic place. In Vietnam you would also be in a better position to negotiate vacation time with your school since the school doesn't control your visa nor your place of living. |

Thanks a lot Galieo...yeah, very important points you made which I hadn't thought of. Vietnam does seem more appealing now for that reason. Cheers,

If money's not an issue, you might think about teaching in Thailand at a place like AUA or a uni job. It's a much more enjoyable country and Vietnam's just a short flight away. |

I would advise against Indonesia as it seems nearly impossible to leave the country while you're under contract at the school. Even if you do manage to get an exit permit, it still costs 1,000,000 Rupiah in fiscal tax at the airport. |
