Hello all.
I'd be really interested in getting the inside scoop from people living in Valencia now or who have lived there recently!
Like everyone, I'm wondering what my chances of gaining employment there are? Are things seriously slowing down? A little about me: I have about a year's experience, having taught English in Prague. I'd be looking for a schedule of about 20 hours per week. I plan to arrive in early January, just in time for the new season.
How many language schools are there in Valencia? Does anyone know where I could get a comprehensive list? Also, am I right in thinking that payment generally stands at around 16 an hour?
Many thanks to anyone who can give me any advice! |

Hi,
Im currently living and teaching in Valencia. In my experience this year has been quite difficult as there has been not that many offers for work and what I have been offered have been loose hours here and there although trying to find say 25 hours a week is hard.
In regards to pay I would love to think the average pay is around 16 Euros an hour but the most realistic bet is between 10-14 Euros an hour and maybe 15 Euros for a private class.
Your best place to look is paginas amarillas (yellow pages) to find a list of language schools and go to them in person to hand in a CV and www.loquo.com |

How is Valencia to live? Cost of living, entertainment, facilities, people, weather, location etc.?
For me, the pay is obviously important, but as long as I have enough money to survive, the lifestyle takes precedent. Gracias. |
