Hi
I want to find a school or way of getting a decent TEFL qualification in Jan or Feb next year and then teach for about six months.
There is so much information i am a little swamped. I am pretty sure i want to do a four week intensive course but want to go about it in the best way for me.
i have seen adverts (TEFL International for exampe which promise to teach you, pay your air fares and guarantee a job. are these kosher.
what is the best way for awell qualified English guy in his forties, with back ground in journalism and newsreading, to go about this.
any recommendations and advice gratefully accepted |

Hey
I would ask the question why 6 months?
I know EF English First will give you training but I'm not sure they would take you on for only 6 months, if someone is going to train you then they usuall expect a 1 year commitment.
EF has a lot of bad press but the school I taught at was good and the D.o.S was excellent (this is apparently rare).
If you want more specific info about training and teaching in China. First do a seach on the companies you are interested in. You will probably find that the question you have asked has already been asked and answered. Then if you still do not get the answers you need post on the China job related forum.
Good luck |

Generally speaking, yes. If you are willing to commit for only a short period of time (six months or so) it is probably very difficult to find a better package.
Take a look www.TEFLtemp.com for short-term work alternatives.
If you want training as part of that package - try here:
