I want to get a job in Kuwait. I am not sure how and where I should apply. I am from the USA with a California teaching credential for grades k-8.
Do the schools provide the housing and transportation over?
How long is the school day and year?
What is the average salary?
Do Kuwaitis discriminate against single older women? I am 50.
I would appreciate any guidance and information.
Thanks,

get your resume, references, letters, portfolios, interview clothes, and smile etc in line and go to the big international teacher recruiting fairs in the usa in jan/feb/march
all the major amer curric schools primarily hire through them
'more mature' applicants are welcome , recruiters believe
1) they carry less of the problems younger teachers bring
2) they are more skilled and represent a 'mother/father' figure needed for effective classroom management in kuwait
more if you ask specific questions by PM only |

Why do you want to go to Kuwait?
I worked there. I didn't like it. There are many others. There was an American teacher with a travel ban last spring. Are you aware of that?
There are lots of other middle east countries that you could go to. |

Just to echo that, I too would put Kuwait at the bottom of my list and would certainly suggest trying Oman, the UAE or Qatar first. It is the one country in the Gulf where I worked that I would not choose to return. So, unless there is some particular reason that you need/want to be in Kuwait, I would broaden my search.
