So now that we have been here a bit, i am wondering about a few things.
1. Are there any after school activities (not school affiliated) for kids to do. I am mainly interested in issues like is there a youth football association? For any of the expats... westerners, indian, pakistani, emirate etc...
I know there are school football clubs, but what about outside of school? In the states Youth Soccer Organizations /associations are HUGE.
I know there is a soccer association who are sending coaches here to RAK to teach/drill soccer, but at 50 durham a week (I have 3 kids interested, so make that 150 a week) it adds up reallllly quick. And they are just scrimaging vs each other. I mean organized team vs team football associations.
I thought about this when we were in china, because it didn't exist there, and now that I'm here I'm wondering if anyone knows
(I realize that in dubai, abu dhabi, and al ain there are LOTS of things for kids to do, but not sure about it here.) |

150dhs a week for 3 kids to do football? Not bad really. That's what it costs for sport and music lessons and stuff. Check that the coaches have basic first aid certificates and go for it. It's what money is for.... think what fun the kids will have! |

is there a nice beach for "westerners"? i mean like the wild beach in abu dhabi, where one can be reasonably comfortable on a weekday? |
