yes Guy, i heard it was a 'lucky' one also. meaning, it could have caused a lot more damage. it was 7.7, but had several +5.0 aftershocks.
one lady said it felt alot worse than the '96 one, where about 5,000 people died. |

I found it eerie that at around 8:30 AM yesterday, I thought I'd felt a tremor in Mexico City, then read about the quake in Chile about an hour later. Mexico City is too far away to feel it.
We're due for a jolt here I think...every few years. |

yes, it was pretty deep, 36.7 miles. the two people who died were 1600 KM away... |

Big aftershock just hit Chile. I didn't feel it here this time though. |
