I've done some research and I believe that this educational system is better than working at traditional schools. I've heard that there is a high demand for Montessori teachers. There are Montessori schools all over the world, so I would still get the chance to travel and have a stable job.
Has anyone ever taught at a Montessori school? How did you get the job? Did you have a positive/negative experience?

Can you please give me your friend's contact info? I would love to question her and find out how I can work within this educational system. Where did you find the job ads? I'm looking for on-the-job-training.

I'm not sure you'd be interested in Thailand, but you could contact MMI in Bangkok

(Modern Montessori International) and ask them about their program.

Here's the link http://www.mmi-thailand.com/tteacher.htm

I agree that the Montessori system is excellent (I'm not a Montessori teacher, but made sure I sent my daughter to a Montessori pre-school)

The first thing I would say about Montessori is that a lot of places use the name but do not really follow the Montessori method. There is no regulation of the name, so you need to make sure the organisation belongs to one of the accreditation agencies.

In order to work for a real Montessori school, you would almost certainly need to do at least an introductory Montessori training course and probably be enrolled in a diploma course. You can do the theory part of a diploma course by distance education, but then you also need some supervised practical placements.

I don't know what country you are currently in, so I can't give you info on training providers, but suggest you just do an internet search.

Good luck

I worked for a Montessori School in Monterrey, Mexico and they didn't follow the standards at all.

Are you a certified teacher? Montessori schools here only hire people who already have a teaching license.

Depends on the country; depends on the school.
