I am quite experienced in Business/In-company English and have been encouraged through friends to offer my services to companies.
Only problem is, I have no idea how much I should charge ... does anyone have any idea how much schools charge companies for In-company classes in different parts of Italy (I am near Florence), so I can adjust my proposal accordingly?
I would be really grateful for any input, since teaching rates in Tuscany are really VERY low (due to endless supply of teachers) and this would be a massive chance for me to supplement my income!!!
Thanks for your input,
Florentine

Though I am not in Italy but I am a freelancer. I visit the websites of the biggest language teaching companies in Lithuania and offer similar or slightly smaller rates. The websites usually have the prices but some do not, probably, because of visitng freelancers Smile But for people it is better to see the rates because that saves them from calling and finding out it's expensive.

I know my school charged about EUR 40 per hour for one-to-one in-company classes, as well as billing them for travel time and travel costs (though the teachers bussing all over the city didn't get reimbursed for travel time!). For group lessons, our understanding was that it worked out to about EUR 15-20 per person, per hour. Most companies received funding from the regional government so, while they paid us the full amount, they were later reimbursed for a lot of their expenses. I am not sure what steps have to be taken for someone delivering language lessons to be considered legitimate by the regional government (in order for the company to reclaim some expenses).
