Once again, I understand that this question has been answered somewhere in the forum but can anyone offer any advice on the teaching Environment in Heredia. What does Heredia have to offer in terms of expenses and social life? I understand that it isn't a city like San Jose but is there any competition whatsoever?

I'm not sure what you are comparing it to. "San Jose" is a big place. Heredia is a part of Greater San Jose where you can get relatively cheap apartments and a job. It's a city, all right, and I doubt you will have problems finding social life, though yet again, I'm not sure what exactly you are asking about.

Hope this rather vague answer helps a little bit. :)

thanks, sorry for the vague question. I am arriving in Costa Rica soon and I am going to stay in Escazu with some family until I get settled. Would real estate agents have information on living in Heredia as well as San Jose?

I can't say from personal experience, but I would strongly assume so. :)

I'm trying to find a host family to live with in Costa Rica and I was curious how you found your family in Escazu. I've looked on websites like Craig's List, but I haven't found too much there. Any suggestions?

I'm not moving with a host family. I am moving in with some of my relatives. Sorry, I don't know where you can find host families but some schools may set you up with one from what I understand.
