Is it my imagination, or is a new hiring process gearing up in the Gulf? Suddenly I'm getting some responses coming back from months ago. I never stopped sending applications and never heard a peep. I was beginning to think I had dandruff or a breath problem...

What you describe is par for the course in the Gulf.

You can send off perfectly good CVs to numerous places, and not hear a word back, not even an acknowledgment. Then, months later, when you'd completely forgotten about that CV you sent to HCT or PMU, suddenly they're asking you if you can start work tomorrow. Well, maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but only slight.
