I've got a job offer to teach at Sichuan Berkley School for Feb 2008.
Sichuan is a little too west but just wanting to do some research beforehand.
Has anyone had any experience with this school and/or Sichaun province.
I would like to know if there is an expat community in Chongqing or Chengdu cities?
What's the overall vibe with Sichuan?

sichuan's great. i've never met anybody, chinese or foreign, who said they disliked chengdu.
berkley is not a school but a placement agent. i've only talked with them but in the end decided not to go with their offer so i can't say anything as to their reliability.
chengdu definitely has a burgeoning expat community, and i find it to be a very nice one, esp. compared to many other cities i've been in. i know chongqing has one as well but i don't know anything about it. if you do some searches you will easily come up with the few sites for chengdu's expat community; i don't know what chongqing's got online. |
