About the royal visit ,it appears on the 27th of this month ,thats next Tuesday, the Prince of Wales and spouse are visiting this country . Apparently a well known and secretive private university is on their agenda in the fair city of Izmir ,no less .Anyone else expecting a royal visitor ? |

What is the purpose of his visit to IUE? Is it true that it's to sign a partnership agreement with a British university notwithstanding others have failed? In your opinion, is this agreement likely to be more successful?
What else is he doing in Izmir or is the university trip enough?
Have you been briefed on mode of address and the correct type of bow/curtsey you should offer?
I wish you well with the visit, at least it makes a break to routine! |

Hi FGT
Yep, basically its about the agreement between the two universities, attached to that is the idea that some form of royal endorsement will raise the profile of the uni significantly and give an opportunity for the local xpats and retired nato people to show their faces and medals and meet the man at a by invitation only reception in the conference hall here. The offical blurb from Clarence house also mentions his interest in organic farming, historic artifacts ( the uni is giving him one) and also a little thing about military co-operation ,whatever that is.
Naturally as usual, no training or advice about royal protocol has been forthcoming! |
