I have never taught English abroad before, but I am interested in getting a job in Japan. I know that the job market is quite slow right now because of the Nova bankruptcy. Anyone have any opinions on when it might pick up again? When would be a better time for me to go to Japan to look?
I will probably save some money at home until that time. Is the demand for teachers normally enough that I can feel reasonably secure that I can find a job in Tokyo (assuming that I work as hard as I can to get one)?
Thanks,
Hal

Start looking now for jobs hiring in April. April is the best time to start working but you need to find the job before that. I have already seen several ALT companies accepting resumes for April. The conversation schools seem to wait until the last minute but ALT dispatchers seem to be on the ball.
