I have never taught English abroad before, but I am interested in getting a job in Japan. I know that the job market is quite slow right now because of the Nova bankruptcy. Anyone have any opinions on when it might pick up again? When would be a better time for me to go to Japan to look?
I will probably save some money at home until that time. Is the demand for teachers normally enough that I can feel reasonably secure that I can find a job in Tokyo (assuming that I work as hard as I can to get one)?
Thanks,
Hal |

Start looking now for jobs hiring in April. April is the best time to start working but you need to find the job before that. I have already seen several ALT companies accepting resumes for April. The conversation schools seem to wait until the last minute but ALT dispatchers seem to be on the ball. |
