I have an MA in TESOL and more than 10 years experience teaching ESL, where can I earn most money in The Middle East?
Any information is appreciated. |

From correspondence with colleagues, and looking at the entries here, it looks as if Kuwait pays the best - on average about 1,400 KD with your qualifications. This is definitely higher than the UAE, Oman or Qatar. As for Iraq, I think the salaries at Hawler University are not more than $38,000, and it is in an unsafe area.
However, a high salary is no compensation for difficult, unmotivated, unruly students. Are you prepared for that? |

I think the really high salaries for teachers in Iraq are paid not by the universities, but by the military or "contractors".
Assuming you're not going to go the 'embedded' route (and assuming you are male), as far as I am aware the best opportunities for making money in ESL in the Gulf is with the military or quasi-military ( such as BAE) outfits in Saudi Arabia. These gigs often involve living in an isolated base with little contact with the outside world or the opposite gender. However, if you want to make a lot of money in a short time, it's probably the way to go. |

Saudi Arabia is your best bet because you can save more in Saudi than anywhere else.
This has a downside in that there is not the usual entertainment options available in Saudi.
BAE and some of the Americam military contractors (Raytheon) offer the best packages in Saudi so they should be your number one target.
For the US jobs you have to be a US citizen. |

You could try importing 'substances' to supplement your TEFLer's income. Large profit but there is the death penalty to consider. How much do you want that money ? |

I wondered about that one too.
But newyork... is the money the be all and end all and only goal of your life. Is quality of life and students irrelevant?

Either way, the OP is surely going to start work in the Middle East next September. |
