What would be the best way to find a teaching job with a working holiday visa in Japan? I am Canadian and am taking a year off before finishing my Bachelors. I was told that a working holiday visa is the way to go. I have my TESOL and am currently teaching english to adult immigrants. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You're just going to have to beat the bushes and see what comes up. Unfortunately, most companies (including mine) won't hire anyone with less than a BA or BS in hand. But, if you come over on a WHV, in a pinch you can probably cobble together enough part-time gigs to keep alive.

Having a WHV at least means the company doesn't need to sponsor your visa, which may be attractive to some employers.

Try GABA; I believe they hire WHV instructors. Or maybe some of the dispatch companies.

Just a friendly word of advice....in my opinion, it may be better just to finish your degree. I know it probably seems like you will never finish, but you will and you will be thankful everyday that you just bit the bullet and did it. I thought about doing this and relying on my husband to pay my way...but it didnt work out and I am now SOO relieved that I have my degree and I dont have to go back to school unless I feel like it....taking time off makes you forget how to be in school...especially if you are in a foreign country....
anyways, that is just my two sense

The best time would be in the Spring, but look now for a job...Wink
