Does anyone know the best country for University teaching positions?(Pay/Stability/Respect)
Does an M.A.degree necessarily help in finding better jobs/pay? |

An MA is a basic requirement for most uni positions in Europe and North America. |

Yeah, the ME is pretty much hands down the top pay option for ESL. All jobs there will require either a MA TESOL or Applied Linguistics.
The lifestyle is not for some people, but if saving a lot of money is the top priority, then it's your first choice. |

The MA itself is only a starting point for university jobs here in Japan, and I suspect other places. Here, you also usually need some fluency in Japanese, some work experience here (conversation schools don't usually count), and publications. Those are all just the bare minimm requirements in most cases for FT jobs.
Stability is another story. Most uni teachers here are on contract, so they are out in 3-5 years.
Respect? It varies. |
