Hello Everyone. I am going to have a phone interview at Alhosn Univ (Abu Dhabi) next week, can anyone provide me with information about this uni? Also, I would appreciate any advice on what questions to expect - lived in Japan and Korea, but never in the Middle East. Thank you!

This is a small, private university in Abu Dhabi. You can expect lies, lies and more lies. My advice, stay away, far far away.

I am serious. If you are truly considering this place, don't expect much and be prepared to move on.

Basically, make sure that you get EVERYTHING in writing that you may be promised prior to going. However, even if you get EVERYTHING in writing be prepared for agreements to be dishonoured due to everything being "a mistake".

Think carefully about this one.

Globalcitizen,

If you have an MA and experience, I would suggest applying to the better known universities. The new small private universities can have many problems in employment conditions. And it is often hard to find out the situation. Mousette has provided a negative review of her/his experience, but we are mostly anonymous here so one should probably apply at the better known places to get a number of posters' stories if this is one's first job in the Gulf.
