Are you certified to teach in an international school? The top international schools in the UAE are looking for teachers that are certified/ licensed to teach in their home countries. If you are, the salary is pretty good, upward of 11,000 Dhs. Most contracts are two years, I think gov't is 3(?).

Actually with those qualifications, the UAE may not be the place for you, you'd definitely be on the low end of the totem pole. You'd be looking at private language schools and dodgy international schools where the salary and benefit package wouldn't even cover your family. Life for your family wouldn't be that great.

You need an MA for the gov't universities and HCT, and you might even need one for the private universities. You could try the British Council.

The key to qualifying for the best international school jobs is to have a legitimate teaching certification from your home country as was stated above. In other words, your first degree is probably in education or you have added their required courses to teach. If you have these, you should go ahead and apply. Your employers will handle the visa process.

Those with the proper qualifications and experience can live well in the Gulf though normally one needs to stay more than a year to take care of normal expenses of shifting countries and setting up a new residence. Even if the employer provides furnished housing, there are still expenses. The ages of your children and education for them would have to be researched.

I've never heard of any place paying in anything other than local currency. This normally only happens in countries where the local currency is not easily convertible (like Egypt).

An MA is only required for the best jobs at tertiary level.
