hello everybody.

i have rather studpidly over-stayed on my current 3 month tourist visa Embarassed and will be flying home for xmas next week.

does anyone have any idea how much of a fine im going to have to pay at the airport? is it likely to be astronomical? has anyone else been in a similar situation? past threads seem to have a mixed estimate.

im going home on an irish passport if that makes any difference...

İt happens all the time, it rather depends how long you've overstayed.Waiting til xmas week before you quit is just gonna make the bill bigger, hanging around here when you should be on the next available flight is only compounding your stupidity. The colour of your passport will not make a jot of difference, prepare to get royally shafted, quite right too, were you working here illegally by chance?

Friend of mine payed a few hundred (at least 500YTL, can't remember exactly) for overstaying a few month. But she had a Turk with her, who calmly handled that and negotiated for her.
