I know this isnt completely teaching related, but I gotta tell ya, the older I get, the more I want the foods I love around me. haha.
Anyway, I adore Asian food, mostly Japanese, Vietnamese and Thai food. When I was in Buenos Aires a few years ago I saw enough of this kind of food that I was pretty happy. Wondering what kind of food mix Santiago has going on.
Dont get me wrong, I love to try local foods as well, and usually for various reasons tend to eat locally more often than not. But the thought of none of the above foods makes me a wee bit sad.
Reason I am asking is a lot of people keep telling me how insular and conservative Chile as a whole is. This, to me, translates to not a lot of outside foods availble.
Appreciate any feedback.

Chile does not have a wide variety of foreign food. There is Chinese food and sushi all over the place (but it's not very authentic). There are one or two Indian and Thai places. There is Korean food if you know where to look for it. I don't believe that there is any Vietnamese food to be found.
And, well... Chilean food just isn't that good, in restaurants anyway. But I have had great chilean food in people's homes. |

There is a Vietnamese place on Manuel Montt....but I've never eaten there and don't know how good it is. |
