What neighbourhood to find a cheap room in Madrid (for 30 days).
I'm looking to rent a room (in an apartment with roomates, as to reduce the cost), but I don't know what part of Madrid is best for that?
I'm looking for a low monthly rent (under 300EUR), including free WIFI, electricity, hot water, simple kitchen, and easy acces to the METRO.
The neighbourhood should have low-cost supermarkets, local take out places, and be a place where students, or low-income families/immigrants live.
That way, I can save money too. Remember, I only need a room for 1 month, so no lengthy rental agreements, contracts, or legal processes please. Just a room.
Thanks.
o, and please let me know if you know of a site that advertises cheap rentals/rooms in Madrid. |

Hi
Under 300 will be difficult to find. I have a friend who lives in San Blas and she's renting for 290 per month (I think). My rent right now is about 380 & I know people who pay upwards of 470 for their own room.
I found my room through www.loquo.com, but you can also use
www.segundamano.es, www.idealista.com (which lets you choose by neighborhood), and www.easypiso.com (but you have to register as a user).
I found my first apartment using segundamano, but my rent was too high, and it was easier to hear from people via loquo, because they just got back to me faster.
If you want your rent to be less than 300 I'd recommend looking in the suburbs of Madrid, to the South or North, rather than in the city because it's cheaper to live outside the center. |
