Hey everyone. I've searched and read the old threads regarding ACES (American Chinese Exchange Society), but I want to see if there are more up to date testimonies.
Yes, I understand that the pay is very low but they seem to have relatively lower requirements that I'd be able to meet. I have a BA, but I don't have any certs or formal teaching experience.
Now on the ACES posting, on the list of provisions for teachers is TEFL certification. Because of this, it sounds like a good opportunity for me to get a cert and some teaching experience along with a little bit of pay. I could also go to China and learn some Chinese.
Compared to spending at least a month to take (and pay for) ESL teaching courses, wouldn't taking the ACES option be better?
I appreciate any of your advice. Thanks in advance! |
