Anyone wants to share info?
1) What is the best college to work for in terms of quality management? Working atmosphere? I heard Sharjah but who knows these days?
2) Do Bachelor of Education Faculty members receive the same salary like their EFL/ESL teachers? Anyone with practical experience in the Bed Department? MA with 5 years post MA experience, and 9 teaching years in total, what is an expected salary?
3) Is it better to teach male or females in the UAE?
4) What is the closest College from Ajman City by car?
Thanks in advance. |

I'm not clear on your question. Do you want to know which university is the best employer? Or do you mean which branch of HCT - since they are referred to as 'colleges'?
You "heard Sharjah." Are you referring to one of the 3 or 4 tertiary institutions in their 'education city'? And I am wondering about the "Bed Department" That sounds like a new major to me. (yes, I know... it is sort of a typo... but it gave me a laugh)
Whether teaching males or females is better is a matter of preference... "better" in what way? Are you male or female yourself?

Depends what college you want, what car you drive, the time of the day and how important that bed really is to you
my guess is that the closest college from ajman by car is in ajman. Second fastest would be any of the colleges in ras al khaimah - 40 mins if you stick to the speed limit - i think this might be quite a bit quicker than getting to any college in sharjah or dubai peak periods- in fact fujairah might come third.

There's Ajman University, too. They occasionally hire an expat or few for their EFL dept. |

At HCT, B.Ed. and English teachers are all faculty level (i.e. same salary). |

Thanks all for your help. Sorry I meant HCT Colleges.
Veil: That was a typo "bad mangement", Nadiak thanks for your straight answer.
HCT, as far as I know, does not run an HCT College in Ajman.
Anyone else? Is it better to drive from Ajman to HCT Sharjah? Or Ajman to HCT RAK? Let's assume driving a decent car. |

A decent car may not even be a factor in the equation. Traffic in Sharjah is atrocious at best a standstill at worst. If you were hired at HCT Sharjah, they would find you accomodation, probably in Sharjah. Ive only known one person to remain in their previous to HCT accomodation and they were switched when their current lease expired. If you worked in RAK or Fujairah, you'd be going against the traffic but HCT doesn't encourage this type of commuting - but may consider new cases due to rental increases. |
