Hello, Just joined this site....so far I'm finding your forum topics very interesting and informative.
Could someone please assist me and let me know the best and no-scams involved way of locating a contract to work in Belgium. It seems to be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack! I'm currently working in Sydney Australia. I have an EU passport. Any information, please write.
Thanks
Marie-Anne |

| There are relatively few jobs, and you'll need to be there in person to find them. It's not like Asia - recruitment and advertising are rarely done from abroad. |

| Try posting on the General Europe Forum, maybe they can help you there. |

I post on the General Europe forum frequently because 90% of my 10 years teaching experience has been based in Europe. I worked briefly in Belgium, and for 5 years in the Benelux region.
As I said before, jobs are relatively rare and not obtained from abroad. Unless you've got specialist qualifications.
Best bet is to go there and ask around. Rates of pay in Belgium are pretty low relative to cost of living. |

try also teachabroad.com or europa-pages.co.uk for jobs.
Also try making contacts through here, people who are in Belguim or have been.
Look for an expat Belguim site.
Try PMing spiral, he may be albe to help you out.
BUt you've got an advangtage to having an EU passport, so why not just take the plunge and go? |

thanks for the information.....I've located a list of language schools from eslbase.com and will check their reponses. Otherwise it's France, Germany, or at a stretch Italy and The Czech Rep. However, I have relatives living in Belgium which would make life a little easier for me. Thanks again. |
