How much would someone expect to approximately pay for a flight from Tokyo to Manila roundtrip? |

A lot depends on when you are planning to travel.
Air fares constantly change, so a more appropriate person to ask would be a travel agent. |

Know any decent online travel agents in Japan?
I'm not in Japan yet (I'm in Korea). But doing a little comparing between places.
Here in Korea, it can be as low as 330,000 won (approx. 33,000 won), or right now during the university student's vacations it's around 650,000 won (approx. 65,000 yen) |

From my experience of looking for flights from Korea, I'd imagine you're looking at around about similar prices to in Korea, although that's just going on what I've noticed in ads for flights from Tokyo. I'm nowhere near Tokyo and rarely have any reason to investigate prices from there. I should also add that I haven't paid much attention to flight prices to south-east Asia from either Korea or Japan for well over 4-5 years, so you're probably better off ignoring me here Over the last couple of years for flights to Europe, generally I found not much difference between geting a ticket from Incheon or from western Japan.
But on the subject of price comparisons, I think I mentioned to you on another thread a few months ago that 10won to 1yen had long since been way off base as an exchange rate calculation. The yen has stopped falling and has risen fairly sharply recently, but it's still quite a long way off 10 to 1. I transfered some money to Korea last week and the rate I got was 8.65 to 1. Which of course, if you're thinking in Korean won terms, means Japan is getting more expensive for you. |

Tiger Beer,
If you look at air fares on line, just be aware that those figures probably are not including taxes and fuel surcharges, among other incidentals that raise the price somewhat significantly. If you are able to get a copy of The Japan Times or Daily Yomiuri newspapers in Korea, you are bound to see at least a few ads for so-called "discount" travel agents.
Good luck! |
