hi have lived in hong kong now for about 6 months and am living in a serviced apartment, which has been great. however, in ausgust my husband and our blue heeler dog are coming over to live as well. the blue heeler is an outside dog of medium build.
i am looking to rent/lease a village house or villa for no more then $15,000 - in the tsuen wan area, 2 bedroom, air-conditioning, furnitured or partly furnitured and with a small courtyard for a very old dog???? i am not sure where to start looking - have been doing internet searches but the rent on these are enormous. i know there are plenty of this type of accommodation out there - where should i go to look???
thanks

You shouldn't need to spend anywhere near that sort of money for a ground floor or top floor with open rooftop 2-bed village house (if you only want two bedrooms you presumably want one floor of the typical three-floor village house which is usually split into three flats). My suggestion, as you know which area you want, would be to go to the villages in Tsuen Wan area and the property agents nearby and ask around. You may find you need to look around for some time to find one in good condition but there certainly should be no problem money-wise. Looking on the internet will be next to useless, you need to do a bit of legwork. |

Depends on which part of Tsuen Wan you need to be near, there would be quite a few in the Tsuen Wan West area heading west towards the Gold Coast - a quick minibus ride into Tsuen Wan proper.
There may also be some village house type places around the Sham Tseng (sp?) area - close to Tsuen Wan via minibus.
While not exactly Tsuen Wan, but nearby - one of the teachers at my school lived in a village house somewhere in Tsing Yi.
If you need to be put in touch with a helpful, English-speaking agent who works in this district, I can recommend the one I've used.
She has good English and is pretty good at understanding what we foreigners want in accommodation.
PM me if you want her contact details. |
