I'm in Korea at the moment and the expat community in my town sucks! I mean, I do have friends in my town but we don't do much together. Instead we all have our own group of friends and hang out in Seoul on the weekends. Seoul's about 1.5 hours away, by the way. It doesn't seem that bad but doing it every weekend is draining, and you're most likely to stay up all night boozing because buses and trains stop running at midnight.
I'm coming to Vietnam tomorrow to see my family in Bien Hoa for a week. I was wondering if they're are teachers or expats in their early 20's in HCM. I'm not looking to get together, but I won't rule that out.
It's just my curiosity that's getting to me. All of my friends here are in their late twenties to late thirties. I have met some bad seeds in Korea, I can't believe the type of people Korea let teach their kids! There are some bad apples here, man. I love all kinds of people despite their age, but I just like to chat with someone I can really relate to, you know? Someone that just got out of college (even though I finished it 1.5 years ago and spent a year in Korea). I think older people are getting tired listening to me about the confusions I have with finding what I want in life and such, so I hope a younger crowd exists in Vietnam. |
