Hi there
I have been here since the beginning of july (but have just spent 5 weeks overseas visiting family) and have been back for two weeks. I am looking around for places to work and the moment.. so far have tried El Cultural and El Britanico and am just in the process of doing the constant follow up!!
I have got a working visa which I have to go and collect from Quito, which I am going to do this week. They wouldnt let me collect it in lima.. I had to leave Peru and Ecuador was the closest place.
What are you up to these days.... I think i remember reading that you have finished up teaching?

Hey, there are quite a few of us gringos at Fleming. How long are you planning to stay and what, if any, are your qualifications?
Fleming is a British-Peruvian International school here in Trujillo. Working here is great. We have a very supportive and friendly team. We would however, expect you to have some teaching qualifications and experience.
PM keepwalking if you are interested in coming to have a look at us or applying for a job. There will be openings for next year.
Where are you from? |

Trujillo is safe enough, although things do still happen here. Last year a former beauty queen`s child was kidnapped and there are reports of pety crime pretty regularly. Having said that I haven`t had any problems whatsoever and to be honest I could be a little more careful. I shop in the markets and take TICo taxis.
I refuse to live my life here scared that something might happen.
I think if you look very gringo-ey you may be more of a target. I am short, dark-haired and dark-eyed, so I do`t stick out quite as much as some.
If you are interested in applying for work at Fleming I would either email the headmaster. You can get his email address off the Fleming website, or PM keepwalking who is the head of English here at Fleming. I would do it kind of now-ish. The job actually starts at the beginning of February.
We only offer two year contracts though and you need some kind of teaching qualifications and experience to be considered.
It is a great place to work though. |

I will be in Trujillo within the week most likely. I arrived in Lima on the 18th and will be in Arequipa tonight. My plans after that are to fly to Trujillo and start looking for a job and apartment. |
