Several teachers informed me that this school asks the following questions when applying for a job
1. Do you believe in ghost?

2. What is LOVE?

3. What do you thing of President George Bush?

4. Do you believe in God or a higher power?

5. Is there such a thing as UFOs?

6. Is there evil? if so how and why, if no, why not?

7. Do you believe in the death penalty?

8. What is the worst thing you have ever heard or seen?

9. What is the best place on earth for you?

10. Do you believe in miracles?

11. How do you feel about child abuse?

12. What is a perfect day for you?

13. How do you feel about drugs?

14. How do you feel about alcohol and smoking?

15. What was the happiest day of your life?
This certainly makes a mockery out of the teaching profession if that is how they are basing their choices and on top of that asking questions regarding religion, politics and personal preferences which in this country is against the law.
When the owner was told that this was not the correct thing to do, he wrote rudely back to the teacher in very poor English stating that the teacher is not qualified since she didn't answer his questions before even looking at a resume.
As a teacher that has taught in Mexico and knowing that there are good schools but there can also be shady schools, I would be certain this is a shady one.

"Several teachers informed" you? Get serious, already! I believe one of your other recent posts pulled a disappearing act on the General Forum during the course of promoting your TEFL course and recruiting gig. Making a post like this, unsolicited especially, doesn't make you look very professional. You should think about deleting it before a moderator feels inclined.

Online instruction of teachers is highly suspect. Many schools will be wary of such an enterprise if they knew how little it cost and that there was no classroom teaching component. Sorry, but my program costs $1200 and consisted of 6 1/2 hours of student teaching plus 4 hours a day of class instruction with an experienced teacher with more than 10 years teaching English.

I donot understand why you have a problem with these questions. As a teacher you know that it is necessary to discuss all topics. I applied at this school, and I filled it out. I think it was fun, and very much an eye opener. I am going to use these topics in my upper English classes for debates. If you have nothing to hide, then these questions should not offend you. I think you need to be honest with yourself. I agree, you should take this off. I see nothing wrong, or warrants the words "beware". It makes you sound jolted.
